Reducing maintenance costs

Resilient wheels adopt modular design technology, which can achieve the direct replacement of traditional steel wheels on existing metro vehicles. The use of resilient wheels, metro vehicles and lines do not need to make any changes. This elastic wheel can be used in the new line, but also to achieve the more serious vibration and noise problems of existing lines and vehicles of the project transformation applications.

In addition, the use of resilient wheels and maintenance is convenient, under normal conditions of use can be maintenance-free use, wheel wear to the limit without the need to back wheel and dismantle the axle box bearings, only need to replace the wheel hoop and vibration damping rubber and so on. This greatly reduces the maintenance workload and operation and maintenance costs.


Higher load carrying capacity of metro vehicles


For the high-temperature environment of metro tread braking, the resilient wheels adopts a special vulcanisation system formulation process and high-pressure injection moulding process, so that the rubber material has excellent high-temperature resistance, which can meet the requirements of long-term 130℃ and short-term 150℃ high-temperature environment, and meet the load-carrying performance under the extreme high-temperature braking environment. The elastic wheel also adopts double connection assembly structure and safety redundancy protection structure. After real vehicle testing, the wheels can still ensure the safety of the vehicle even under extreme working conditions such as continuous emergency braking, complete failure of electric brakes and no relief braking.

The newly designed large-width, low-stress structure reduces the maximum dynamic principal strain by 57%, which significantly improves the fatigue resistance of the vibration-damping rubber, and the fatigue life can reach more than 10 years (1.5 million kilometres), which meets the requirements of the metro for no less than one overhaul period.


More environmentally friendly than traditional rail wheels


Resilient wheels vibration and noise reduction effect is remarkable, can reduce the underground vehicle noise 10-15 decibels, attenuation of vehicle vibration 50%-70%, with low-carbon environmental protection, advanced technology, high security, long service life and many other advantages.

After the product wears out to the limit, only need to replace the outer ring hoop, the wheel centre pressure ring can be reused, greatly saving the use of steel, reduce the consumption of raw materials and electricity, reduce carbon dioxide emissions in the manufacturing process.

A single train resilient wheels uses about 4 tonnes of steel over its entire life cycle, while a conventional steel wheel uses about 4.8 tonnes of steel. Due to the reduction of steel consumption by approximately 0.8 tonnes, it is expected that the use of elastic wheels will reduce electrical energy consumption by approximately 376 kW per hour and reduce carbon dioxide emissions in the environment by 1.6 tonnes.
